GTX programming question

Post by Big DADDY »

When entering talkgroups into a gtx series mobile I cannot remember how to convert the hex or decimal numbers which Uniden uses (eg. 1872) to the 800 series numbers which the radio needs in the rss? Thanks....Big DADDY

The easiest way is to use the Windows calculator applet. Set "view" to "scientific." Check hex; enter the hexadecimal value; check decimal; and you will see the decimal equivalent. Add the 800xxx offset, and that is the value you enter.

Note that if the system in question is a SmartNet system (including systems using the SmartNet feature set, such as SmartZone), the TG numbers must be hexadecimal "even", i.e., end in 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, B, D or F.
