MARATRAC Power control, Drive Limit adjust? out of band VHF

I want to manually set the power out on a VHF Maratrac so it won't
run wide open (150 watts!!) below 146 (out of RSS control range).

I see there is a drive limit control pot on the PA board, and a jumper to short when setting it.

Would it be proper to use that to set the power??

P.S. I HAVE done a manual power control on a MAXtrac logic board, so that would be an option....

I would set the Drive Limit correctly to limit the drive.
You can use the manual power control on the logic board. The Maratrac Logic board is much the same as the Maxtrac in the power control section.
