Saber Convertacom mounting bolts

Post by va3wxm »

Anyone know what size bolts are used to mount an SVA to it's mounting bracket?

I was at the local big-box hardware store and was able to determine the size is 8 mm but the thread pitch was wrong. It almost seems to need a finer threaded bolt.

Help!

I tried some regular pitch & fine pitch, and neither really felt right. I gave up for now, as I have other things to work on.

After poking around some other big-box hardware stores I found 5/16" fine thread (UNF) is the winner.

But the shortest ones I could find were 3/4" long and will need to be cut down because they'll interfere with slipping the Saber in.

I used a couple of washers to shim out the bolts. GARY N4KVE
