need help: retransmit audio from spectra to maxtrac

Post by Conundrum »

Hi all,

We have a new system in our complex for comunications. We are using VHF astro spectras for voice pageing from the central office to all the outer buildings. One of our buildings uses UHF communications inside the building and they don't want to get rid of their radios as they just got them. Is there any easy way to hook the audio coming from a VHF spectra to the standard motorola speaker beside the radio along with a UHF radio and have it retransmit the audio to all the handhelds? We have access to a UHF Maxtrac.

Any help would be apreciated.

Thanks,

Conundrum

Yes, you could easily build a cross-band repeater using the Spectra & Maxtrac radios. Have a look at the thread below, which gives a lot of good info for using a Spectra in a repeater configuration:

There is a ton of information, both here and http://www.repeater-builder.com/maxtrac ... index.html , in regards to using the Maxtrac in a repeater configuration.
