This is what the service manual shows your radio as:

1. H01: portable/model series

2. R: 438-482 Mhz.

3. D: 4.0-5.0 Watts

4. D: Standard control with display

5. 9: Programmable channel spacing

6. P: Programmable primary operation

7. W: Programmable primary system type

8. 1: Basic Feature level

9. B: Version

10. N: Standard package

So yes, you can do 12.5 Khz. channel spacing, and probably 6.25 as well.

What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's

how old is the firmware, even tho the model number says it will do 12.5, older firmware won't take some frequencies.

'BN' series Jedis should all be capable of 12.5 Khz. channel spacing, the earlier 'AN' series might not though.

Even my old 'BN' series HT1000 does 12.5 Khz, so I'mn quite certain his radio should be able to as well.
