GM300 Pin 10 on the accessory connector - ignition control

Post by ku4zs1 »

Just a quick question, assuming that my radio does not 'use' ignition control, (meaning that it turns on without any connection to this pin), what is the output at this pin? Is it 12v+? I ask because I an trying to wire an accessory that normally connects to the 16 pin plug and am trying to identify how it is powered (if you must know, its a delay cable used to connect two gm300s together, but I am wiring it to my repeater controller). It's gotta be 12v+ right? I don't have a radio here in front of me to put a volt meter on.

Yup. It'll have the same voltage as is being fed in from the big power cable, but back out through the on-board fuse. It'll also be present all the time, as it doesn't go through the power switch.

If you want switched A+, you can use pin 13.
