Opening Up Saber III
Any tricks to opening up the case on one of these? I want to find out if a pair I recently purchased on ebay has the encryption board.
Nope, just loosen the two spanner nuts on the bottom and pull the guts out of the case, you also have to remove any covers or mics over the rear accessory jack.

...and whatever you do DON'T hold the side buttons down when
you pull the chassis out. Keep your fingers off the buttons and
just pull the thing out using the antenna.

Good point, i sometimes to forget mentioning that. The last thing you want to do is hold in a button and pull out the guts and ruin that buttons internal rubber pin.
