I am not sure if this is a programing error or something's fubar.
I have an MTX-838 B3 W/ No display (H01RDC9DB3AN)
I loaded in a B4 Codeplug (H01RDD9DB4AN) so I can use MDC (which works) and make it 48ch.
I created 48 Personalities and created 3 zones with 16 Personalities in each zone(For the ABC Switch)
I turn on the radio, there is a pause and then a beep (not boop).
The problem is that when I try Zone 1 (Switch A) CH 1, it's not what I had it programed for. It's always in a diffrent spot when I power up the radio.
then as I'm turning the dial I get a beep (last channel beep?) on CH 12. But that also varies as I turn the radio on and off.
So I tried searching the froums and I could not find an answer.
I have a feeling I have continous rotary in the codeplug. But I can't program that option with the RSS and LAB versions I have (RSS 6.07, Lab 2.01). But I not even sure if that's it.
Any ideas?
MTX838 Channel Selector Problem

You may have a bad switch. Power the radio up and enter test mode by pressing the bottom side button 5-10 times after the power up beep. The radio will then show the model number, serial number and RFTEST. Press the blue side button and the display changes to CH TEST, press the orange button.
Now cycle the channel knob through each position. The channel knob will change the display to 4/xx where 4 is that switch and XX is the position that it's in. The possibilities are 0-15. If those work correctly then your switch is fine and you would need to find a non-CR codeplug. If you have the 838 labtool, it has a codeplug tool in it and you can disable the CR function from there.
Does the channel selector switch turn past 15 to 1? If it doesn't then having a CR codeplug would not make any difference.
