motorola radio que sounds?
anyone have some radio sounds like when you que the radio to talk? alert ques, nextel sounds etc?
It appears you are looking for 'talk permit' tones.
The same ones that are used on trunked radio systems, Nextel included.
Simple method is a scanner with a recorder tied into it, listen and record the voice channels and listen for the tone, you'll hear it.
Same goes for Nextel and Boost, but you have to be a customer to get a solid recording of the tone.
Unless you have an unblocked scanner, then you could listen to Nextel as well, but they will not be found in the cellular splits as they are an SMR provider and operate iDEN on 806-866.
Tower downlink: 851.715 (to mobile radio)
Mobile uplink: 806.715(from mobile radio)
If you have Nextel or Boost, there is an easy way to monitor your control channels, and tell when they hand-off as well, and it's done by simple keypad entries.
* then # then [MENU] then -----> then scroll down to view the item/s of interest.
If you intend to display or trace a screen/display, once you are in that screen, press the view key, then press again once [TRACE] shows, and that's it.
You will now see the control channel that's currently active in your area, and if you drive out of the area, you can watch the hand-off take place.
The screen will flip from normal display to the traced display, that's normal.
That's all from the peanut gallery...the rest is up to you.
