Small Saber battery compatibility

Post by MattSR »

Hi guys, just saw these slim batteries for sabers on eBay

Image

I am wondering how they fit in the regular saber charger - the footprint of the battery looks to be a 1/2 inch or so narrower than the regular battery, wouldnt it be too narrow for the regular charger?

Thanks,
Matt

if memory serves, it does fit... but you have to make sure it fits the slot correctly -

but again... as i recall... the astro saber lasts about 3-4 hrs on 5-5-90 running off of one of them.

Saber small batteries...

The small batteries are flat on the switch side, instead of
rounded on the switch side, and they're also about a
quarter of an inch narrower. The small batteries will
work fine in any Saber charger slot.

That is true except for the SVA. Someone correct me if I am wrong but
I think they do not work in it. Phrawg

You sir are correct. They will not work in a SVA . I not sure about a with an ASTRO Saber the length of the chassis may determine if it will work

what you have to be concerned about is not only length, but battery chemistry as well.

the shorty is available in LION as well as NIMH.

the LION will *NOT* work in the SVA or the old 4794 saber chargers....
