RLN4884 Car Charger Part # Number needed
I have one of these car charger for my XTS3000, but I lost the metal tip, fuse, and plastic tip cap (screws down to hold fuse in). If anyone has info on where I can get the parts or what the part numbers are I would appreciate. I cant see paying $90 for a new charger with just a few small pieces missing. Thanks.
If you have a MOL account, call up M and talk to parts id. they should be able to give you the PN for the assembly to order.

I dont believe you can just replace the plug end. I thought about it but once I cracked open the end I noticed a small PCB with odds and ends on it I realised it might be a bad idea.
I check Radio Shack today, no luck.
I also dropped by my local Moto Service Center and they told me that Moto doesnt sell replacement parts for most stuff, and so I just needed to by a new radio. Im kind of in disbelief of that, but anyway.....I got no where.

Actually, that's not true (for the most part). Replacement parts are often available for most accessories, but in this specific case Motorola doesn't sell the cord separate from the travel charger. It will vary based on which accessory & which component you are looking for.Alex663 wrote:I also dropped by my local Moto Service Center and they told me that Moto doesnt sell replacement parts for most stuff, and so I just needed to by a new radio. Ps. WTF--- buy a new radio so you can get a new travel charger?!
Im doubtful about his response because they didnt even look at a book, MOL, or any other parts reference catalog, they just said "nope, they don't sell replacement parts."
Ive been searching fleabay for a broken charger that I could part out, but havent had any luck in that area either. If anyone has one they could donate

Typical Moto Crap...
Instead of replacing a $1 part you need to buy a $50 item.
If you have a camera take a picture of it, i would like to see the item we are talking about here since i don't have any of them. There has to be a way around this.
To someone that has one, is the cig cord responsible for voltage regulation or is it just filtered and that's what he sees inside of his?
If it's just a matter of having a cig cord with the right voltage output than something could be built to replace it if parts can't be found.

Duct tape is like the force, it has a dark side and a light side and it holds the universe together.

After a little research on MOL i found this info on the charger.
Travel charger
A great traveling companion that ensures constant communication while on the road. Its small compact design allows the radio to be used while rapid charging in the charger base. Unit includes a voltage regulated cigarette lighter adapter, custom charger base, mounting bracket, and coil cord. Ideal for public safety, utility, and construction markets.
So the Cig cord is the voltage regulator. Just use some clip leads or pieces of wire to hook up inside it and then measure the output. I assume the cig cord plugs into the travel charger base and is removable? If so then we just need to find another adapter of the same voltage and current capacity. I like the newer style cords with the mini atc fuse in side instead of the old school ones with the glass fuse in the end.

Unfortionately the cord is not detachable, so a simple unplugging isnt possible. However, if we can find a cord with the same specs I can do a nice solder & shrink wrap job......
Thanks for the assistance guys.
On a side note, the XTS3000 software is significatly different from the HT1250's im use to programming. I almost don't like it, but Im going to give it time..... maybe its just me, but I swear it was designed by 2 different companies.....
