Post by CMarks0207 »

Can a 2 ch p1225 be edited using Hex workshop and pushed to a 16 ch, like some other models and if so which line???? I have done many HT1000's but never a P1225.

I think the P1225 suffers the same CPU changeout that the later editions of the GP300/P110 and others suffered......when you attempt to write a CP with 16 channels to a 2 channel radio, all you will get is successive channels...1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2 Etc....same with the GP300/P110 and Genesis radios...

Circle-M did this to prevent 'toolkit' use for hacking the radios to 16 channels from a crippled model.

The 1993 'vintage' GP300/P110 were easily programmed to 16 channels, even if they came from the factory with 2 channels, same with the Genesis models.

I guess my P110 was a 'rare' version, with a model number like this:
P44QLC20E2AA.

I have yet to see another like it since!

This was a 6 channel radio 'toolkitted' to 16 with an escutcheon swap.

And it was made in 1993 as well, and just 4 months before I bought it.

If your radio is capable of scanning, you should be able to do it, even with 2 channels.

There should be a menu for the scan programming option within the RSS.
If it's not available, or greyed out, then you are S.O.L as well and the option is NLA for your radio.[/b]
