What radios do you own?: one of each

no codeplug data resides in memory blah blah blah

Post by nh7cy »

hello, i've been noticing this problem lately, it occurs even after the radio has just been read

when trying to save, message reads:

"no codeplug data resides in memory, either read a radio or load data from archiver disk file" or something along those lines.

anybody know of a way to remedy this?

If you are using lab and using the tcms field to read the radio it DOES NOT unpack the codeplug, thats why the codeplug info does not reside in memory. If you were to unpack it you would either get codeplug to new or incompatible codeplug errors.

I guess my question is what are you trying to accomplish with using lab. If you use the RSS/CPS meant for the radio then you can read and write just fine.

er.. its not working with either radio using either rss.. no matter what rss or radio i use its still not noticing the codeplug. even if its just reading the radio to program it, when i turn around to save the codeplug or edit it, its not even loaded..

basically when i read the radio it says the codeplug has been uploaded
then when i press F7 to save it there's nothing there

everything worked fine up until about 2 months ago then it just stopped working, maybe i need a new computer

Well you can't use mtsx lab with an XTS3000 radio to change stuff in the codeplug. Its used for s-records and archive file with no unpack, thats it. If you have an old enough MTS2000 then it may work but chances are its been programmed with something newer, therefore it wont work.

If you are using regular RSS and you get the codeplug too new error then you need to update your RSS/CPS.

Please read up on "toolproofing" on the MTS2000 as well.

sorry, maybe i should detail what im trying to do first

im only using it to get an s-record out of the radio, im not doing any programming whatsoever. the only problem is, once ive read the radios codeplug (by using the read radio with no-unpack) option, when i go to save it to the computer, i get a message stating that the codeplug isnt in the computers memory.

and yes, im aware of the toolproofing on the mts radios as well which makes me glad all of my mts's have the earlier firmware :D

i know for a fact that labv3 will read the radio no problem, only thing is that its started to do this lately

all i know is somewhere in between reading the radio and saving it, the software is dropping the codeplug. i'll take a look at it tonight and if i figure anything out i'll post more up here later/

ah, got it to work

i must have been asleep.. its been a couple years since i last had t4o do this i had completely forgotten

i should have been saving it under s-records, etc instead of saving it with the codeplug menu as so many people have told me already

load.. press F10, press F6.. brought things back into perspective..
