gp300 buzzing sound

Post by johnny1225 »

I have a uhf gp300 that everytime you put the body of the radio into the housing the audio is just a buzz, even the start up beep is just a buzz. It sound like it is grounding the speaker. If you take the board out of the housing everything is ok again. I have soldered around the board making sure there is a good ground. Reslder speaker terminals and shielding. Is there something that anyone knows about that i can do to fix this problem.

Thanks

John

The hot lead of the speaker flex has probably worn through the paper and is rubbing on the main shield. Look for wear-through from the speaker all the way to the four-pin connector.

if you have a CRO look at the output of the audio amp chip. what power supply are you using?
Are you transmitting when you get the buzzing?
