How to program MaxTrac to RX non standard ID

Post by phyberoptix »

Hi,

I have a Maxtrac that I'm using as an RX unit. The system that I'm monitoring uses 80 as the (Uniden) talkgroup. Sometimes, that group gets linked to another group, and instead of using 80, the system uses 83.

I have my maxtrac programmed to cover 80 using 800005, my question is how can I monitor the linked group when they change it to 83?

Thanks,
Jason

The radio treats 83 the same as 80. If you were to convert the Uniden 80 to Motorola the talkgroup would be 008 or 800005 on a Maxtrac. The 0 is a normal conversation, the 3 is a crosspatch talkgroup function.

See Tom Swisher's site for info about converting talkgroups:

So 800005 will receive traffic regardless of function selected.
