CDM 1250 RSSI?

Post by sparky2842 »

I was recently hooking up the pump panel mic and speaker in our 2 engines. I noticed that the installer hooked up the ext. speaker+ (pin 16) up to the RSSI (radio signal strength input- pin15).
On the previous radio (Maxtac) This would hook the internal+ (pin 15) and external+ (pin 16) speaker together. Question is will this damage the radio in any way. They both seem to be functioning correctly.
On a side note the external mic audio is a bit lower than the radio mic gain I would blame the resistance due to the lenght of the wire to the panel. Any suggestions on the correct mic gain setting? It is set the same right now.

External speaker on a CDM should be pins 1 and 16.

I'm not sure what that arrangement may or may not let the magic smoke out of (probably the audio amp for atarters), but it's not right.

I think I might just as well cut the jumper in the a.m. (It has been like that for over 2 months now)
