Saber III Weak DTMF Tones

Post by chammerbeck »

Has anyone ever encountered a Saber III with very weak sounding DTMF tones? Using two radios to monitor.... I can hear the access tones for the auto-patch fire too. I do realize the Saber itself doesn't make the tones to the user. Nothing available in RSS either....My guru says that doesn't exist.

Thanks,
Chris

What radios do you own?: What's a radio?

It sounds like the deviation level for the DTMF tones (which IS set in the RSS) is too low or the balance isn't set. This is part of the transmitter alignment and does require the proper test equipment to set up. Using another radio to monitor the signal just won't work.

Interesting...I will take a look at those tonight. Hopefully I can tweak the settings, while keeping note of the originals, and see if it get's better or worse....

Was reading the operational manual on how U505 works...

thanks,
Chris
