For whatever reason all my buttons in the far left column are dead after replacing an RF deck. I have inspected the flexes and I can't see anything wrong.
I looked in the PDF service manual I have and I don't see a matrix or pinout of the keypad. If someone knows what tabs to test for continuity I would appreciate the help.
I'm trying to figure out if it's the keybard, flex, or something worse.
How to test an XTS keypad?

Well, you can test the keypad from the service mode:
If memory serves, enter service mode, at the RF TEST prompt, hit the upper (purple) side button, then the top orange button. That should put it into button test mode. Try the left hand column and see if you get any response.
It may just be positioning of the flex in its clip onto the board. Check its alignment. I had a VHF that had the same problem once.

It came down to the metal clip being ever so slightly torqued. I bent the end toward the keypad down a bit and it caused it to put a bit more pressure against the flex. After that it worked fine.
Now I have a headache.
