RS232 OP code for Quantar/PDR3500

Post by fred23 »

HI,
I would like to make my own software to change the current running channel on my repeater.
I don't need to reprogram the frequency, just to change the operating channel from one to another one.
So what are the op code that I should send throught my RS232 port in order to do this.
Of course, I could use the rear command, but I prefere using the RS232C facility.
Many thanks.

Operating channel and not changing frequency?? Should we assume that this is a trunking repeater? If so, the channel info resides in the central controller codeplug and not the repeater. You would have to get a new codeplug burned in the controller to edit any info in the trunk system.

I will assume you are looking mainly at the PDR so you can do it on the fly
First question is do you have the duplexer option?
If so then forget about it it will change frequencies but the duplexer wont be tuned.

If you have a wireline card installed you can do it through a simple TRC command.
Much easier and no PC required.

Do a search on the PDR as there was a previous discussion on this
