2004 Monte Carlo SS Install Suggestions
Hello - Looking to install some lights and all that good stuff in my SS - Right now all I have is a LED Dash light mounted underneath the mirror using the little screw and thats it.
I have a Galls GS-100 siren box but I don't see anyway in mounting this siren box anywhere in this car without it looking like crap and I definately don't want to ruin a sharp looking car with a POS install.
Also will be looking to install a radio probably a FT-857D Yaesu Ham ( Licensed Ham Op BTW ) for prob 2 and 440 mhz.... Already plan on using a lip mount 1/4 waves for this installation for the radio part black since my car is black
Any suggestions on making this install look decent?

The Galls GS100 is rather large for that vehicle. For a siren I would suggest a Fedreal Signal MS4000U Under Cover unit and you could remote mount the switch controls low on the dash somewhere probably near the ash tray. The main unit us small enough to mount in many small places. Whelen makes a nice Talon LED unit that mounts inside on the rear deck that surrounds the rear deck brake light(if this vehicle has one). Not sure on the ham gear but I gather there is not much room. I have a 2000 Impala and have the same problem of lack of mounting space. I used a small remote control head type radio in my Impala and it just barely works out. good luck....

If you don't want the install looking bad, why are you installing an Amateur rig?
Take a look at the Federal Signal DynaMax speaker, they're pretty small and can fit just about anywhere: http://www.fedsig.com/products/index.php?id=123
As for the siren unit, how about the remote-mounted DnR units: http://www.dandrelectronics.com/DandR-P ... enDocument or http://www.dandrelectronics.com/DandR-P ... enDocument

I just looked one of these over the other day and about the only spot I could see that may work out for a Fed Sig MS100 speaker is underneath the drivers side headlight(you must look from underneath the vehicle) behind and underneath the bumper there may be just enough space but if so it will be tight....good luck.....KG4LHQ wrote:Geez,
This car is killing me - I looked underneath to try to find somewhere to mount my Galls siren speaker at and wala NOTHING - I don't know of anywhere that I can mount it.... When Chevy built this car they knew it wouldn't be for emergency equipment....
Any suggestions

Bought it
Bought a Dynamax MS100 and an MSU4000 - I took the headlight out on the drivers side and found an opening to mount the speaker but I don't see anywhere to attach the bracket???? Any suggestions?
Re: Bought it
In this case you may have to experiment and fabricate your own custom single bracket or seperate brackets for each side of the speaker.KG4LHQ wrote:Bought a Dynamax MS100 and an MSU4000 - I took the headlight out on the drivers side and found an opening to mount the speaker but I don't see anywhere to attach the bracket????
