Hi, i have a few spectras that i want to use, i have 2 900 spectras and a uhf spectra, i am trying to mod the rss so that i can program theses radios, i am having a difficult time, understanding the first part of the how to directions on this site. I dont understand how you use the two dos programs to change spectra1.exe, because normally when you open spectra1 in hex workshop each colum has 4 digits but batlabs shows each colum as having 2 digits. i am stumped at that point. i understand the rest of the directions. Can someone help?

it should only have 2 digits in each column. try winhex and see what that does for you. do the 4 digits still have the same corresponding offset address? i just opened that file up on mine and it's in pairs.

Ahem...you just asked for RSS. Modifiying it yourself is one thing, asking for any part of it is strictly prohibited.kg6uyz wrote: do you have an already modded version i can use?
Thanks, Jeff
I'm leaving the thread open so people can continue to help you, but please refrain from asking for even a part of the RSS.

Hex Workshop can display the data in several formats. It's not at all obvious how to change it, especially considering there are several buttons on the menu bar that would be perfect for this but they do nothing.
Anyway, on the latest version, click Options->Preferences. Select the Layout tab, and on the right side it says Columns. Change this from 2 to 1, click OK, and the data should appear as two-character hex values. You may also want to modify the number of bytes displayed across each line.
