GP340 with a corupt codeplug

Post by Cheeko »

HI all

im hopeing one of you knowlegable folk will be able to help me out of a pickle here.

iv just been writing a new codeplug to a gp340 when the pc locked out and in the process has corrupted the codeplug on the radio.

I have read through the section on the main site about recovering the codeplug but I dont have access to half the stuff on there so cant recover it that way.

Is there another way to recover a codeplug or force one into the radio its already set up with it on disk just needs dumping to the set.

Any help will be gratefully accepted as I dont really have a good radio shop near me

All the best guys

You need Waris-lab-flashgrade to recover and/or force a working codeplug into this radio. Or you do the trick with the 2 programming leads, as on Batlabs.

hi Guys

I got a copy of the flash grade software and iv got no were with it.

From what I can make out to use the flash grade software I need a flash adaptor I dont have on and I cant get my hands on one eiather.

Iv checked with my local radio shop and they dont have the kit to do it eaither. I was hopeing to be albe to recover this set as its now a £300 house brick and I cant really afford to go and buy a new one or replace it from the likes of EBAY

Is there a way to for a codeplug onto this set all I have access to is a rib cable and a RIB and cant really get hold of anything else.

All the best guys im hopeing someone may be able to help me out.

Paul,

The flash adaptor is a simple modification to the programming cable.

Hi thanks Ed

I think what im going to do is nip over to my local electroincs place tomorow grab a gender bender case and pop a switch in the top for the times I know im going to screw it up again.

iv never flashed a set before so im not 100% sure at the moment so thank you for the help its makeing the job easier I do have some GP300's here at the moment so there taking the place of the 340 but we do use alot of the fetures on the 340 like the whisper mode man down loneworker etc as the radio kit I use is primarily used in a safety aspect and I like to protect my team as much as possible.

I thought the GP340 had alot of stuff in the RSS till I did the 360 and im still working that one out lol its a case of sitting there running the RSS twice one with the 360 stuff on and the other with the 340 id never be able to remeber half the stuff if I was to do one then the other and id be forever writing to the radio.

I guess the fun time comes when I come to set the icom mobile I have to match the hand helds. oh well I do put myself in these posistions being a blood perfectionist lol

Thanks again ED ill have another read and see how I get on just out of curiosity do I need to do the whole 2 radio clone thing as I dont have another 340 or at the moment access to one only gp300s and the 360 sory for the newby questions

If you bring back the radio alive, you can programm a (backupped) codeplug into the radio.

Before doing any flashing/programming/modification:

Use Pro Radio Tuner and backup all the radio softpots! That way, you don't have to realign if you messed the whole thing up...

And believe me: Waris radio's are easy to mess up!

Back-up a Motorola a day, keeps the doctor away!
