Commander Speaker Microphone ?

Post by ScannerDan »

Is there any special programming that needs to be done in order to have the RMN5021 Commander speaker microphone to operate properly on a XTS3000? This microphone has the volume buttons, channel selector knob, and two programmable buttons.

Nup - the volume buttons cannot be programmed and the other buttons emuate the buttons programmed on your radio.

Dan...the volume and ch selector works out of the box...you can program the 2 mic buttons on the side to do anything that you want...I sold mine though because 1. It weighted down my shirt so I stuck with the regualr jedi mic and 2 I always received Low Audio with the mic no matter what Radio it was on..

Yeh, but they're always going to have the same functions as the side buttons on the radio. So to answer the original question again, No there is no special programming for the Commander.

Thanks all so it looks like "Plug and Play". I just bought one on E-bay so we'll see how it works.

You need to be above a certain level of firmware on the radio for it to recognize the commander mic . Not sure what level is required.

Also, not all of the functions will work with an "AN" XTS3000.
