Okay, I posted a message a little while ago about an MTX-8000 that didn't work. It just occurred to me that when I first programmed it, I used a unique ID (0001). I was able to use the radio for almost a month, then it stopped receiving and transmitting. I tried reprogramming it with a known valid ID, and it still doesn't work. Does this sound like my radio was inhibited? If so, how do I fix it? Thanks in advance -

No it's not inhibited, but the system manager probably knew you had a radio on his system. Try reprogramming the radio with affiliate on PTT only, they may be running the system in closed mode because they knew you had the radio on the system. Everytime you turn the radio on it transmits info to the main controler and the info is seen on the console at main dispath, the info would include radio ID. It can also be monitored via system watch , a motorola program most trunking system managers have.
