M1225 error 58 problem

Post by RocketNJ »

Hi All,

My friend is trying to read his M1225 mobile and is getting an error 58 "codeplug error" message.

We've tried different computers, standard and smart moto ribs, different programming cable, etc. Any ideas?

If it is a corrupted codeplug, can an archive be cloned into the radio and if so does anyone have an archive for a M44DGC90E2AA that can be sent to me?

Thanks,
George

I don't know exactly what that error is, but I do know that corrupt codeplugs can cause all sorts of problems.

This works on GM300s. Enter the Service menu, then go make a change to either power, deviation, or frequency warp (change it by one number), press F8 to save it, and exit. That often fixes the codeplug errors. After reading the codeplug and saving it to disk, go back and reset the setting you changed.

It's worth a shot, especially if it saves the radio.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try it later. Hopefully it resolves the problem.

Thanks again,

It did not work. Still got error 58 when reading radio. I get "Radio codeplug error".

Still looking for an archive for the radio that I can try to clone back in.

Thanks for the thought.

What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's

does the radio still work correctly? what software version are you using and what operating system is on the programming computer? it sounds to me like you have a windows driver problem.

I never check PM's so don't bother, just email me.
I won't reply to a hotmail, gmail, aol or any other generic free address, if you want me to reply use a real address.

Nah, a clone with a known good codeplug should work. It's not an uncommon problem with the 1225 series. I have a codeplug of that model which opens fine in my RSS. It's on it's way to you now.

Hi Todd,

Thanks! Cloned the codeplug in and all is good again!

In the process I've ipgraded the programming software to version 4 (was using 3.1 prior).

Thanks again!
