Astro Saber Programming Question

Post by Mopar078 »

I have an Astro Saber Host R07.08.00 DSP N08.02.02 with flash 100008-000000-0 that is going to get reflashed with the latest firmware and add Digital ID. My question is when it goes to Morotola and they use the most current software version when they flash it and I get it back will I be able to write the radio with the original CPS codeplug without having the Codeplug to new pop up or will I need the newest version of software? Also if it will work is it ok to load the old codeplug if im adding Digital ID or can that mess something up of give a fail code? Thanks

You will not be able to load the old codeplug into the radio, as the flashcode will be different after they add the digital ID feature. You will get a 'feature set mismatch' error message. So, you will in all likelyhood require the latest & greatest CPS when you get the radio back.

The radio should come back with your original programming intact. You will most likely need the latest CPS to read it and make future changes, such as enabling PTT ID.
