MCX1000 Annoyance
I have recently acquired a VHF MCX1000. No matter how I set this radio up, it emits a short beep from the speaker every time I key the mike. I originally thought this might have something to do with MDC1200/600 signaling but I checked and both of these options are disabled. This radio also has a crypto board in it, so is it possible that it's beeping at me to warn me that I'm transmitting in the clear when I key the mike? How do I get rid of this most annoying sound?
Yeah I thought there should be something like that in the RSS too but if there is, I'm blind. I also have a UHF MCX1000 but it does not have this problem.dxon2m wrote:I've never worked with MCX1000 RSS before but most of them will identify it as "TX CLEAR TONE", or something similar to it.
I have double checked to make sure that I did have MDC turned off and I even disabled all of the crypto options since I don't need them....same thing.
Anybody else got any ideas?
