MTS 2000 Scan List

Post by john1545 »

I just got my new UHF MTS 2000 all setup, and I programmed the A,B,C switch for position C to program the scan list. Now I remember with my trusty VHF HT1000 when I programmed it to do that you'd flip to that position and a green light would turn on for every channel in the scan list. Then you could rotate the channel knob to each channel and hit the top blue button on the side to select/deselect the channel from the scan list. From some reason the MTS 2000 does not work this. Does anyone know how to enable this, I'm probably missing something somewhere, but I need someone to tell me whats wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm just learning how this new radio works. Thanks alot!

What radios do you own?: XTS2500, XTS5000, and MTS2000

are your personalities all pointing to a scan list that is valid for each mode? the MTS2000 can support up to 20 scan lists of anywhere from 10 members (in trunked personalities) to 16 (conventional). What is your scan type set for in each scan system? (conventional, talkgroup, priority monitor) if your scan type is say, priority monitor on a trunking mode, the radio will only allow you to select TG's on that trunking system.

FYI the green light will not flash during scan programming but on a front display a box should appear indicating you are in scan program mode. when you select or deselect a mode from a current scan list, the "Z" appears (yes, you still use the blue top button to sel/deselect modes), in case of priority monitor or conventional priority, a solid dot indicates Priority 2 and a flashing dot represents Priority 1. (this is all dependent on the scan list type setup for that particular personality).

All the personalities are pointing to one scan list with conventional personalities. I see the Z scan icon on the display, but it still will not allow me to select or deselect it.

scan list

Have you checked off in the programming to make the scan list user programmable. This is done from the screen where you define what personalities will be priority, designated TX, secondary priority, etc.

scan

In the config:scan menu of the DOS MTSX program, look at the left column of settings. The second from the bottom says NonPriority Members....... The setting you want here is OP/SEL as opposed to FIXED. If you still can't find it, let me know. Maybe I can e-mail you a picture of what I am talking about.
