Maxtrac and CDM programming cable.

Post by thgiz »

I have a Motorola OEM ribless cable to program a CDM. Will it also work with a Maxtrac? don't want to plug it in and blow something up...just curious if somelse has already tried it.

Thanks

So here is my next question. if it works with those radios, i should be able to make an "adapter" to program a P1225 as well correct? should be able to just use the ground and data leads off the RJ45 plug? anyone tried this yet? would kinda be nice if this all does work..weed out some of the cables in the case!!!

that would work just fine, i use a cable something like that for p110's and gp300's, and 1225's, i just added a 9v battery to the setup to power up the radios when needed.

Just another quick one. do I have to do anything with the Boot Control lead? I tried this briefly and got the error of no rib power. And since it's ribless....Looking at the RJ45 plug with cord to the left and tab facing me I have 4 leads.

1 - empty
2 - orange
3 - empty
4 - empty
5 – white – Ground?
6 – empty
7 – green – Boot?
8 – blue – Bus+?
9 – empty
10 – empty

Now I know the plug for the maxtrac and such is only a 8 pin plug so I figure the two outside contacts are not used with them. The plug it self is the same size and does fit into a maxtrac mic socket.

Or is my problem that fact i am using a 9-pin to 25-pin adaptor instead of the 9-pin to 25-pin cable? just looking at different posts and trying to figure out the problem here...

Thanks
