Scan feature on HT Models

Post by Luke »

I do a lot of chatting on "Ch.1" within "County 1" and have it set in a scan group with other frequencies in "County 1." I usually switch to "Ch.2" when I cross into another county to scan the channels in "County 2", losing the ability to scan "Ch. 1." I would like to leave my radio on "Ch.1" but I set it to scan frequencies in "County 1" only. Is there a way to set up the radio to continue to scan "Ch 1" although I'm on "Ch. 2" and scanning a different set of channels? I would like to switch to "Ch. 2" but have the ability to scan "Ch. 1", although its set to scan a different group of channels.

When I set up my scan groups, "Ch. 1" is in scan group 1 and scanning channels in "County 1" while "Ch. 2" is set in scan group 2 and scanning channels in "County 2." Is it possible to make "Ch. 1" scanable when I'm on "Ch. 2?"

Hopefully this mess makes sense. I tried my best to explain it. My apologies if it seems a little whacky

Why don't you just add "Ch. 1" to ScanList 2?

I guess I am trying to determine if I can get the best of both worlds. I want to keep "Ch. 1" associated with "County 1" channels but when I switch to "County 2", I still want to be able to scan "Ch. 1."

A given "channel" (i.e., entry in the zone/channel screen) can be a member of more than one scan list at a time.

you can have the same channel in more than one list. just add the opposing channels as a non priority in the opposite zones and your problem will be solved.

I went ahead and added "Ch.1" to all the scan groups that I currently have programmed. I put on "Ch.2" and unfortunately, "Ch.1" never popped up. I tested this several times and when "Ch.2" was silent and "Ch.1" was active, the scan feature did not pick up "Ch.1." Perhaps I did something wrong or not fully understanding the scan groups?

Be sure that in the Personality Screen, one of the scan lists is tagged to the personality that is "Ch. 2."
