When will site be updated?
Been member here for yrs now, and havent posted in long while, but was looking on main site, and noticed nothings been updated in over 2yrs...like info on xts series and others...so..is their a chance that one day there will be updates? in the wanted list, i see things that have surely been found out by now.
Not complaining,...just wondering....

Re: When will site be updated?
None of the "staff" on the batboard has any control over the content on the main site, and is not responsible for updating the content there.Code636 wrote:Been member here for yrs now, and havent posted in long while, but was looking on main site, and noticed nothings been updated in over 2yrs...like info on xts series and others...so..is their a chance that one day there will be updates? in the wanted list, i see things that have surely been found out by now.

The search feature on this board - when used correctly - can yield a whole ton of information on whatever you could be looking for.
I'm working on a couple of projects to help those on the board out - and hopefully get something online soon --- but my time is limited on these projects these days.

I wish i had access to modifying the info on the Batlabs site, so much of that stuff is sorely out of date.
I have also been thinking of getting some stuff up on my new website, would be nice to put some info over there.

Well, the http://www.repeater-builder.com web site is certainly open to new material. Articles are gladly accepted. No reason outdated material on this site needs to stay that way, so if you have new, up-to-date stuff to offer, write a little article about it, include some pictures with circles and arrows and paragraphs on the front, and send them on in.

I think a lot of us realize that this condition is out of Alex's hands. He's just the guy in charge of keeping the Batboard running smoothly, and he's doing a nice job at it. But as he's said many times before, Batlabs is a totally independent site that just happens to have a link to the Batboard, and vice versa. Like the USA and Canada: two separate entities that share a border but are only tied together via the hot-line. No one's forcing you to stay in one place or the other; if you like it better elsewhere, then by all means go there and enjoy it.
People get told to look at the main Batlabs site for information, and for the most part, the info there was sufficiently accurate at the time it was "cast in stone". But it's more like a time capsule. Nothing new seems to be able to get in, and what's there is stuck forever. Too bad, but that's really a condition setup and maintained by the administrators of the Batlabs web site. We can b-i-t-c-h and complain to our hearts' content, but all it will do is frustrate Alex, and we don't mean to do that. Unfortunately, there's no one else listening or watching (well, except perhaps Mother M).
Besides Batlabs and Repeater-Builder, there are a few personal niche sites that have good information. We can't turn Batlabs into a site that will please everyone and be everything, which we'd all like to have, so perhaps our efforts should be turned to improving or creating sites that are willing to evolving, welcome new material, and can deal with it in a timely fashion.
