OK, Here's the deal. Dual Head MCS2000 Model II Mid power setup.....
When turned on the radio wants to automatically transmit and will sometimes (70-80% of the time) send a emergency message to the dispatch console.
If I remember correctly there was a technical bulletin put out on a similar problem. I don't recall the specifics. Radio has recently undergone firmware and flash upgrade in attempt to solve the problem. Still occuring.....
Isn't this most likely going to be a issue with the control heads conflicting with each other?
Suggestions?
Thought I would ask help from the masses before spending alot of time on the phone with Motorola.
The radio has been completly reprogrammed to rule out a corrupted codeplug.....

- What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's
that almost sounds like you have the radio programmed to startup with the emergency trigger. how is the radio wired? does it turn on with the ignition? i'd check to see if something in the acc connector isn't arcing out and making it power up and transmit the emergency signal.

I never check PM's so don't bother, just email me.
I won't reply to a hotmail, gmail, aol or any other generic free address, if you want me to reply use a real address.
STOP ASKING ME FOR SOFTWARE OR FIRMWARE, I JUST FORWARD ALL OF THE REQUESTS TO THE MODERATORS

That was one of the first thing done when it moved from the vehicle to the bench.
Both mics have been replaced as well to rule out failure on that level.
I am thinking it is a control head issue.....Won't be able to get back to this one until Friday...

Start eliminating things such as wiring, etc. Take the transceiver & front control head out of the vehicle. Set it up on the bench with a regular single remote cable, or connect the head directly if you don't have a cable. See if the problem occurs. You should also be able to try this with the rear head...you just won't have any volume control on the rx audio.
If the heads & radio appear ok in this set-up, thoroughly check out your dual-head Y-cable, it may need replacing.

No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.

Todd,
Thanks for the suggestions....
First thing done was to actually pull the unit and use a NOS dual head cable. Still the same problem. Second, tried a stock single head cable....No problems at all. It appears to be something in the dual head setup. I am not around it today, but will be back Friday to look again.
Just thought I would ask for some suggestions from others on this. Going through the standard trouble shooting ordeal on this, just figured someone else may have experienced a similar problem and might be able to lead me to a quick easy solution.
Thanks again,
We will let you know how it turns out.
