CDM 1250 shutting off & on

Post by TheOCAstro »

Can anyone help with a problem with a Motorola CDM-1250 intermitently shutting off and then on again real quick when you pick up the microphone from the hang-up clip, no other problems ??

Motorola CDM 1250
UHF 403-470
Model: AAM25RKD9AA2AN
Firmware Version: R04.02.08

Any input would be greatly appreciated, including throwing it up against the freeway soundwall............ :-?

What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's

i'd say grounding too, make shure the negative power cable is good and that the radio isn't grounding itself thru the antennae shield.

Be sure to check if the mic hangup clip is at ground and not 12 volt plus.

Yes I know it sounds stupid, but we had a deputy do a self install and he wired up a goose neck map light reverse polarity.

The light was attached to the metal console side plate where the mic clip was fastened making the plate B+.

Just a thought..............................
