I have a mid-power (45-watts) 800-mhz Conventional (non-trunking) Spectra radio, that came from the factory configured to work with an A9 control head.
What do I have to do to make it work properly with either an A5 or A7 control head? Or, is it even possible? I prefer to use this smaller head type, due to space restrictions.
Thanks in advance for any help given...

Hack the codeplug.
You might want to take a look at the normal "BATLABS.COM"
site and go to the Spectra mobile section. There has been
a considerable amount of chatter and links on the subject.

There's also a few paragraphs about doing that in a Spectra article(Miscellaneous Spectra Notes) in the Motorola/Spectra section on http://www.repeater-builder.com
