Side buttons on sabers?

What can the two small side buttons below the TX button be used for on the motorola sabers? Can they be set up to select different PL and DPL codes? Where is this configured in RSS?

For the standard saber (core 6d or 8d is required) the sider buttons are for repeater access tones. That is all they do and are programmed via RSS.
