the IFP is delayed for about 4 weeks (backordered)

here's what my case said:

Line 1, RLN5671A, has an estimated ship date of 3/29/07 due to a quality defect. We are forwarding this case to our Holding Bin and have scheduled an update for 3/20/2007 to confirm the ship date. At least that is better than ICOM. More then once we have had a shipment where virtually all that radios were defective. They admitted that they know they were faulty, but hadn't found a fix yet, so were continuing to ship the units until they could figure it out.

Gee, I'm glad I got mine before they were defective.

So really, they are doing what /\/\ has been doing for years. Which model Icom?
