GP300 beep driving me CRAZY!!!

Post by jcarlyle »

Hi All, I got two GP300s and started using them and everytime you release the PTT they do a double tone, they also sometime do it when you push the PTT bt I think that is because of the scan function. Is there any way to turn off the double beep on The PTT release? I've looked through RSS but can't seem to find it, am I missing something? Please help or I'll have to go back to my P110.

Sounds like a low battery alert, which can be disabled in software. If the batteries are good you might have contact and/or volume control problems.

the two beeps on dekey is most definately a low battery sound. if the batteries are good then you need to have the radio checked out. did this just start happening or what's the story on the batteries?

I have two of these radios and 3 batteries they both do it with all 3 batteries. I have used these radios for two days before and the battery hasn't died, so it seems the batteries are fine from what I can tell. They power up, transmit and receive just fine. To me it seems like a "roger" beep. My P110s when they are low will beep when I key it up when the battery is low not after transmitting and releasing the PTT. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A GP300 low battery alert will come after PTT. Does the LED blink when TX'ing?

At any rate, there is an option in software to disable all alert tones. But I still suspect battery and/or radio problems.

Hi all, I went into RSS and where you turn all alerets off, if you hit F1 to get to the help section it refers to PTT sideband (I think that was the name). I turned off the alerts and the beep quit. I really don't think it is the batteries cause I can't imagine 3 different batteries on 2 different radios that will work for 2 days without charging being the problem. But it seems like its all the alerts or none of them, guess I'll go with none, but the low battery would be great by itself. Thanks for the help everyone.

you need to adjust the settings, for some reason the radio thinks the battery is low even tho it isn't.
