While poking around the codeplug on my Astro Spectra, I noticed the RX Unmute Delay for each personality was set to 100 ms. I don't have any type of MDC signalling on any of my personalities, so is there any reason this can't be set to 0? And is there a reason the factory default is 100 ms? Just curious.

Yeah, I don't know why the factory setting is 100ms...I've never had a problem with setting them to zero.Pat wrote:While poking around the codeplug on my Astro Spectra, I noticed the RX Unmute Delay for each personality was set to 100 ms. Yea, that is a very annoying feature. For some reason, all of our MTS2000's at work were programmed with a 500ms rx unmute delay. The theory apparently being that it would be even better than DOS muting. After all, that would take up the entire pretime for the radio's MDC ID. And it worked great, you'd never hear a single squawk from an MDC ID.
But it also clipped the begining of everything the dispatcher said. Needless to say, that function is now set for zero.
