Programming with C7 head on a C9 Spectra

Post by turtlexiv »

Hey folks,

I've got a trunk mount Spectra (model T45ZXA5JC9AK) - a C9 radio which came from the seller with a type 7 control head.

I am unable to read the codeplug from the radio, receiving a "Cannot access the S9000e control head" error. Since this is a Systems 9000 radio, the RSS is apparently getting upset when it can't find a matching control head.

What steps do I need to take to get around this problem so that I can get the radio programmed? I'm assuming that it will take some variety of hacking with Lab RSS, but I'm not sure how to proceed.

Any help would be appreciated.
