XTS3000/XTS2500 incorrect default setting in the ISW

Post by Bruce1807 »

Most of the XTS-3000 and XTS-2500 radios may have an incorrect default setting in the 'INBOUND SIGNALING WORD".

The settings that SHOULD BE in them are as follows:

XTS-3000 FF20 XTS-2500 FFC0

The setting can be changed with standard CPS. Motorola is attempting to how long the radios have been coming out like this and how widespread the problem is.
The result of the incorrect setting is that these radios will NOT affiliate with a site they are close to, but will instead seek a site much further away, which of course will degrde the performance

This should be official shortly

its adjustable in CPS however if you start from scratch with a new radio and then clone, it depends on the the original radio.
That said we need to wait for the official release to see what serial number range has the problems.
I will look at some 3000s today and see what I find.
I think the value is in the archives

What radios do you own?: All are Motorola

Any update to this topic? I have this problem and would like to know should they be set to what cps says or be left alone. the radio's work fine from what i have seen. also our spectra mobile and vrm modems are also different than what the cps says. seems like the cps says they all need to be set to ff20. the vrm modems have 0041 in them. btw no one else cares about this problem in my shop.

Yikes!

Good catch. This might explain some intermittent coverage issues some users have been having. I will have to check some codeplugs...
