Maxtrac Conversion ?

Post by bellersley »

Okay, I'm pulling my hair out here, hopefully someone can help!

I've got a lot (12 or so) 800MHz Type I Maxtracs, model D35MWA5GB7_K. They do (according to RSS) 10 conventional channels in addition to the Type I trunking stuff.

These radios didn't come with heads, so I can't tell if it's the 3 button or 5 button version.

I'd like to use these to run Trunker/Treport. Problem is, I can't get them to scan. I've put the conventional channels into a scanlist through RSS, but none of the buttons on a control head seem to turn scan on.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong, or what I should be doing?

Thanks!

What radios do you own?: Too many!

You have to have the mic plugged in and on a hanger (the clip grounds it) for it to scan. It's one of the bottom three buttons. You'll know you have the right one when the display goes to two dashes. If the mic is off the hanger, it'll look like the scan button is not working.
