Basic Telephone Interconnect On Simplex Radio

Post by mrtor »

Hi from Sunny Melbourne, Australia. I have had a brain wave but need some input from more knowledeable folks from batlabs. I want to interface a mobile (GM300 UHF) to a phone line. I have a GSM mobile unit that simulates a standard Phone line. I want to have a telephone interconnect that someone can ring in and have access to our radio channel for this special event. Simplex channel, need auto answer on the phone connect unit not dtmf or anything flash just basic vox operation.
Anyone suggest a basic phone interconnect that can be rigged to operate on a GM300 that I can either buy in Oz or get shipped to Oz.
Thanks in advance Michael

That's what we use at work, and it seems to work great. It's plugged into a Maxtrac and is using a simplex channel. It's programmed to require DTMF to answer, but I believe you can program it to auto-answer after a set number of rings.

We are on Level 3A.... Bloody ridiculous. The driest continent on earth and we are still allowed to water gardens with only 29% capacity in the primary dams...

Anyway, thanks for the information looks like just the trick I will ring them Tuesday
