Motorola CP125

Post by Rayjk110 »

Does anyone out there with a fleet of CP125 portables (sometimes oftenly marked BearCom by Motorola) recommend them?

I've got a security client in the area that's interested in getting portables as well as mobiles in their vehicles. The CP125's are cheaper than CP200's, but I haven't much experience with either.

What radios do you own?: Centracom Gold Elite, XTS5K 4K

i gots one of them.

nice radio, works well.

pros:
alpha display
compact
RF is just a little below the quality of my MTS2000
cheap accessories
lots of options from the front panel
very simply programmed

cons:
battery indicator is inaccurate(atleast on my dirt old firmware)
no MDC
shitty antenna style(but thats how it is on all the lower series radios)
only 4 channels

Overall I like it...
but im a whacker so i dump this on other people and carry my MTS:D

Does it require CPS like most newer radios or is it programmed by the front panel as the XTN series radios do (XU2100 etc). Same antenna kind as the GP300/MT1000? [no center pin] I've barely seen them in person...
