Programming to include DEK not working

Post by kingpin »

I recently changed trunk units in my truck. My VHF trunk unit came already programmed with my DEK and Siren and worked fine. I Swapped out the trunk unit for a UHF one and the DEK is not working. I went in the software and set it to 1 DEK and programmed the key functions for it and when the system powers on, only the light above the 2nd from the left (wail) light comes on. None of the buttons work. I've searched through the archives and I haven't been able to fins out what I may have done wrong. Is there something I could have missed in the programming? When I unhook the DEK, I get the Error 08/10 code so I feel the radio knows to look for it. I plug the DEK back in and I don't get the error.

Any ideas?

Thanks fellas.

Did you change out the actual control head too, what control head are you using and if its an A5/7 what is the control head board part number.

It was originaly with an A5 control head. I sold that radio and the one it's on now is a A7 control head. It's a former Corp of Engineers setup.

Get the HLN # off the control head board. My guess is its not an enhanced board and will not support dek functions.
