DIU Programming Speech Quaility

Post by bbrantner »

Guidance requested regarding a DIU that is connected to a CentraCom Gold Elite Console. The received audio from a new Astro Digital system is somewhat garbled and muffled. The same audio at the mobile or portable level is clear and more intelligable. Curious if anyone has had a similar experience and if so, what actions if any were taken to remedy the situation? Is there programming for the DIU in regards to "emphasis or de-emphasis" on the audio?

Thanks for any input.

I'm not sure about the DIU, but the BIM the DIU is connected to could be programmed incorrectly for pre/de emphasis, as well as have incorrect jumper settings. Check the BIM in the CEB and also the programming, I'm assuming this is CC II+ or Gold Elite.
