Scan list problem Astro R Saber.

Post by jets1961 »

Hi All,

I created a new codeplug for my astro R. When I created the system I set the affilation to disabled and programed in the Control Channels (CC) for one tower in the type II system. I then created my TG lists and then my scan lists (2). The unit scans ok and get all the TG I programed in for one list. So my firt question is whay can I not scan both lists for a total of 20 TG. Like why does it let me have two scan list but I can only scan one?

Next with the same code plug as above I save it as a differnt name and then go in and set the concentric rocker to TX inhibit on both sides. I then go and change the affilation type to Wide Area (I forget what RSS calls it some thing like WASS I think). I then add the CC for two more towers for a total of three towers (same system). I also set one of the side buttons for site display/search and one for site lock/unlock. But when I scan it will not scan lock on any TG except for the TG I am parked on with the rotary. I am using RSS 8.5 and the Astro is a limited key pad and I have set it up for scan programing. Anyone have an idea why it wont scan? Do I have to start the codeplug from scrach as WASS affialtion. If so I might as well start as smartzone and then roll it back to WASS. Will this help? :-?

Thanks, Joe

The answer to the first question is, I believe, "Only one list at a time."

In summary, each "channel" in a conventional radio and each "trunked personality" in a trunked system is pointed to one of the scan lists in the radio. The radio will scan the contents of that list so long as it is in scan mode with that channel (or a talkgroup in that personality) "selected." You can only point a channel or personality to one scan list.
