I have a couple VHF Saber 1's (secure but w/o the module). (H43YXN7139CN) I want to program only the first two channels and delete the rest. I am using the last version of RSS that Motorola shipped.
I have read the codeplug from the radio, modified the first two channels to what I want, deleted the remaining channels and re-written the modified codeplug to the radio. However, it appears that only the first two channels are overwritten and that the rest remain unchanged. When I read the codeplug radio, I see only the first two channels. The same problem exists on both radios.
I have used the Batboard search function, but haven't been able to find anything directly on point. Also the RSS manual doesn't seem to cover the topic, but perhaps I'm overlooking something.
Is there a solution to this short of filling the unused channels with a receive only frequency? I would like the radios to return error beeps when an unused channel is selected by the user. I have thought of making a brand new codeplug but haven't tried that yet.
Thanks.
Fred

Re: Problem Deleting Saber Channels
I meant to say that when I read the modified codeplug from the radio after writing it only the first two channels show up.

Re: Problem Deleting Saber Channels
You can build a new codeplug. because its a Saber I its easy just match up the model # and band split with what is in the new codeplug select your options and freqs for channels. OR just program the remaining 10 you dont use the same as the last one just set the power as Low..

Thanks.
Now that I know it should work, I will try the new codeplug. There are actually a few other things I wanted to configure and the cleanest way is probably a new plug anyway.

if it still wont' let you delete them make them recieve only and program them to recieve something like a weather channel.
