TMN1005B desk mic to spectra moble (Monitor button feature)

I have a old Motorola Desk Microphone with two buttons (Transmit and Monitor) Part# TMN1005B. I have the mic interfaced to the rear connentor on a UHF spectra setup for pagers. Tx and Rx work perfect. My question is can the monitor button be used? I know on the old base that the mic came off of would open squeltch when this button was pressed. Does the spectra even have an external way to open squelch?

Mic has seven wires, two are not used.
