CDM1250 Transmit Problem
Just got a CDM1250 from a seller on E-Bay for our fire dept. We have it set up to use as our base radio. The radio recieves great but will not transmitt to even trip pagers in town or in front of the station. Any suggestions or advise will be helplful.
Re: CDM1250 Transmit Problem
This maybe kind of a dumb question, but who did the programming for your channels?
Have you checked to see if the radio even puts out any RF power? The TX may be dead.
If the radio does transmit, is it on the right frequency? Is the deviation set correctly? Is
the tone squelch the correct CTCSS tone? Do you have the correct page tones programmed?

Re: CDM1250 Transmit Problem
Programming is correct. A local shop did the programming. It was identical to another CDM that we have that works just fine and was programmed by the same shop

did the shop put a meter on it and see if it's actually transmitting? and if so how much power is it putting out?

Re: CDM1250 Transmit Problem
All the shop did was program it. I guess I am just wondering if this probelm is going to cost us an arm and a leg or not. If it is we are going to go after the seller.

Re: CDM1250 Transmit Problem
i'd start by putting a wattmeter on it and see if it is putting out anything and if it is hold a frequency counter up to it and see what frequency it's transmitting at.
