CDM1250 WITH A CDM1550 CONTROL HADE WILL IT WORK?

Hi I have a cdm1250 vhf mobile and after powering up 1 minute the radio shuts off, I took it to my local radio shop and he told me the control hade is no good, now I fond a control hade #gcn6114b of a cdm1550 so I wonder if I will hock it on
1) Will it work at all?
2) If it will, will it like a cdm1250 or cdm1550?

There was a post on the board about this that I saw and the answer was that you cannot swap the heads. The 1550 head will supposedly display "wrong head" or something like that.

Just curious but does the radio always shut down after one minute? Is the radio hard to turn on sometimes? I had a 1550 that was hard to turn on and the fix was a replacement potentiomer/switch. Maybe something is sticking in the switch that is shutting it down - its just a guess.

yes the radio was hard to turn on all the time, the switch replacement is a good guess. thanks i will try that

Don't quote me on this but i believe that Motorola had a firmware update for this issue but i might be wrong.
